The Color Run!

This was one of the coolest races ever!! So of course I had to blog about it! I ran the Color Run in Minneapolis yesterday. I'll let the photos tell the story.

I must say this first, however, that although my husband and I are avid runners, we DO NOT believe in forcing our daughter to run (or participate in any activities that she does not want to). We will never be those parents who force strongly encourage their children to play hockey/football/track/etc. because they were once a hockey/football/track/etc. star. Our little girl LOVES to run. And she can run a good mile even though she is just a few months past her second birthday. She runs races because she wants to. And although we love that she loves to run, we are just as happy to have her on the sidelines cheering us on, if that is what she prefers.  I had intended to push my little girl in the running stroller, but she wanted to run. So she ran about 3/4 of a mile before I insisted she go in the stroller and pushed her the rest of the way. After all, it was 90 degrees and sometimes being a good mom trumps letting your child have unsafe fun.

I strongly encourage anyone who likes to run (or walk) to particpate in this event as this was a noncompetitive event- I don't even think we were timed. They claim to be the "Happiest 5k on the planet" and I think they are:)
